PRISMA Lab and ICAROS (Interdepartmental Center for Advances in Robotic Surgery) of University of Naples Federico II will be among the national and European labs exhibiting at the 6th edition of Maker Faire Rome 2018, 12–14 October.
Maker Faire (MFR) is the most important innovation fair in Europe, a 100.000 sm space where digital enthusiasts, schools, universities, educators, artists, students, and research centres show to the public their innovative solutions in different fields. For the second year in a row, Bruno Siciliano is the curator of the Robotics area.

The intensive programme features a number of conferences devoted to Robotics.

“Robotics 4 Health” Friday October 12th h 10:30 to be held jointly with the Opening Event “Groundbreakers Pioneers of the Future”. The introduction by Bruno Siciliano will focus on the status quo of the medical robotics and all the opportunities to come.

“Robots on the run” Saturday October 13th h 10:00 where the exhibitors of the robotics area introduce themselves and explain their projects to the public.

“Drones beyond the hobby” Saturday October 13th h 15:00, with Vincenzo Lippiello and PRISMA Lab presenting with Juha Roning, University of Oulu, HYFLIERS the world's first integrated robotic system with hybrid air and ground mobility with a long-reach hyper-redundant manipulator capable of reaching sites where no other robot can access, reducing the exposition of human inspectors to potentially dangerous working conditions.

“Robots: with, within and among us” Sunday October 14th h 10:30, with Fanny Ficuciello and ICAROS showing MUSHA, a three-fingered miniature tool for robot-aided laparoscopic surgery, and MERO hand, a mechanically robust anthropomorphic prosthetic hand using novel compliant rolling-contact element joints and the augmented reality simulator for the da Vinci surgical robot.
